How do I log in to the admin panel ?

You will need to phone us on our 0800 number from your school phone to be set up with an editor login

Then to edit your website you need to go to your website and in the url put a /admin after it and this will prompt you to sign in.

Can we use photos of Facebook?

This depends on the size of the images. Often Facebook will resize images as you upload them so they are not always of suitable quality to use on our websites but it also depends on where they are to go and what purpose they are being used for on your website.
Generally we do not recommend using Facebook photos for banners on our websites.

How should I send the information to you? Is a shared Google drive file okay, or do you prefer email?

If your site is in the build process you need to use the 'Enable Comments Mode' that is set up for feedback in the build process. These comments are able to have photos and documents attached to them. However, only one document or photo can be attached to one message.

If you have a lot of content to send to us then you need to email what you need used to websites@skoolloop.com

OR you can put them in Google Drive and then share them with the same email.

Can we have an online enrolment form on our website.

Yes we can build forms for you.

Can we have a video in our banners?

Yes but only on the Home page.

We can embed videos on other pages but not as a banner.

If you want one on your Home Page you are best to upload it to YouTube or Vimeo first as this prevents a large video from slowing your sites load time and doesn't use so much bandwidth.

Can we have animated images in the banner or on pages?

Yes so long as they are in a video format. See the previous question.

Can we edit our website ourselves?

Yes when it is live you will be able to edit parts of your website.

You will be given tutorials for this.

Who pays for our website?

The Supporters and Sponsors that are on your website pay for your website.

These are sourced by our team from your surrounding area, so they are relevant to your viewers.

Can we have our own sponsors and supporters put in the advertising banners at the bottom.

Usually, we will do a dedicated page for your own supporters and sponsors.

Do you have any tutorials we can look at for editing our website.

Yes we do. You will be given a link to these when your site goes live.

What sort of quality do we have to have with the images we supply to you?

Supplying Images for Your Website
The quality of the images you provide has a big impact on how professional your website will look. While we can often improve images slightly, we cannot create detail that isn't there. Starting with good-quality photos will always give the best result.

Please provide:

The largest version of the image you have. Don't resize it before sending.
Original JPEG photos from a camera or smartphone, wherever possible.
Sharp, in-focus images that are not blurry or pixelated.
Well-lit photos with natural lighting where possible.
Images that have not been taken from social media, screenshots, or copied from other websites, as these are usually too small.

Avoid sending:

Screenshots
Images copied from Facebook or Instagram
Pictures downloaded from websites
Photos sent through messaging apps that have compressed the image
Small logos or graphics
Images in native iPhone format - this is HEIC format

Logos

For the best results, please provide:

A PNG with a transparent background, or
An AI, EPS or PDF vector file if available.
Avoid supplying logos taken from Word documents, PDFs, or screenshots where possible.

Image sizes

You don't need to resize your images before sending them. We will optimise them for your website.

As a general guide:

Photos should ideally be at least 2000 pixels wide.
Banner images work best when they are 2500–3000 pixels wide. Avoid supplying Portrait (vertical) photos for banners as they are the wrong shape.
Portrait photos should ideally be at least 1000 pixels high.

File types
Preferred:

JPG or JPEG (photos)
PNG (logos or graphics with transparency)

Avoid sending native iPhone format images - these are HEIC images.

If you're unsure...
Send the original image anyway. We'd much rather receive an image that's too large than one that's too small. We can reduce the size without losing quality, but it's usually impossible to make a small, low-quality image look sharp.

Tip
If you're taking new photos specifically for the website, leave a little space around the people or subject. This gives us room to crop images into banners or different page layouts without cutting off important parts of the photo.
